MJS Turnaround Achievement Scholarship Nomination Form

The MJS Turnaround Achievement Scholarship recognizes one senior from each Dauphin County High School and two seniors from the JT Dorsey Foundation. The seniors must be nominated by staff and faculty based on the following criteria:

  • Must be a graduating senior
  • Struggled socially, behaviorally, or academically throughout high school and overcame their difficult circumstances through hard work and determination
  • Demonstrated resilience in the face of unfortunate adversity
  • Is pursing post-secondary education

All seniors are awarded a $4,000 scholarship, paid out over four years ($1,000 per year). Scholarships are paid directly to post-secondary institutions. When nominating your senior, please make sure the student has aspirations to continue their education at a post-secondary institution.

Student Turnaround Details
Please provide as much information as possible for the nominated senior. This information will be shared with our board to qualify the student as a recipient for the scholarship. Students will also be required to "apply" for the scholarship once approved and will have the opportunity on the application to elaborate on their turnaround.
